Pender County Humane Society Is Hiring People with a Heart for Animals

Calling all animal lovers looking for part time employment! The Pender County Humane Society (PCHS), the only NO KILL Shelter in the area, is in need of workers to continue to provide a safe, clean, healthy environment for our furry friends until they can find their “FUREVER” homes. The shelter needs part time workers who can help feed the animals, walk the dogs, play with the cats, and clean the kennels and litter boxes. They also need help with basic chores, such as loading and unloading supplies from their van, helping with the materials, washing floors, etc. Most importantly, they need people who have a soft spot for dogs and cats, and who are willing to jump in and help with their many needs.

The Shelter Manager, Marie, is looking for part time employees age 16 and up, willing to do the functions shown above.  Shifts include

                        Weekday Afternoons              4 PM – 6 PM

                        Weekend Shifts                      9 AM – 5 PM

Applications for employment can be found at

The PCHS Shelter is open Monday through Friday, 8-12 PM; Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 4-6 PM; Tuesday and Friday in the morning; and Saturday and Sunday, 11-5 PM
